WE MUST HAVE THE CORRECT INSTRUCTION MANUAL

“Study to show thy self approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

I was prayed and asking the Holy Spirit for this post and I love to read from different versions of the Bible, the KJV is my “go to” version, but I love all the versions.

I was looking in one of my bookcases and I saw a book entitled “The Instruction Manual for Welding.”  It was a very old book so I guess it is one of my husband’s books, he used to do a lot of welding for himself on the farm.  It was funny to me, “I said “yes, I do need an instruction Manual, but I don’t think this book will do me any good for my post.”

The verse above from 2 Timothy 2:15, jumped right in my spirit, to show ourselves worthy and unashamed before God is to STUDY the WORD OF GOD. Not only study the Word of God, but to KNOW the word of God, to digest it’s words in our spirit man, where nothing or no one can ever remove them from us.

If we study and read every version of the WORD, but yet do not rightly divide the words, (rightly understand the meaning of the words), we have accomplished nothing.

To rightly divide the WORD, I must read, study, and study some more, that is where the different versions of the Bible are so helpful to me.  I also must look up the verses in a concordance, in Bible commentaries and other study helps I need to pray until I can see and understand what the Holy Spirit is trying to impart into my spirit about what these words I have read, really do mean.

I have read so many scriptures time after time and gotten a different golden nugget of wisdom from them time after time, that does not mean the Word is not the same it just means that there is an unending supply of strength for us in every verse.

A verse of scripture can give us comfort when we read it and later we can read it again and we will notice something from the same verse that we never realized before and the very same verse will uplift and comfort us for the need for that moment.

My precious readers, read and study the WORD, in these times we live it is the only thing that can carry us through until Jesus comes to take His Bride home.

Blessings in Jesus Name, Love Gloria

This is so true! Sometimes I read a familiar scripture and it's as if I'm reading it for the first time because the Holy Spirit gives me new revelations for whatever situations I'm facing.
BTW, although I love different versions of the Bible, KJV is my go to version also.

I blogged something similar to this a couple of weeks ago. Each time we read the Word, we get something new. It's the Living Word! It's alive and God uses it to reach us.

Thank you for linking with Woman to Woman's Word Filled Wednesday! God bless!

I always enjoy reading from different versions too. I've come to enjoy The Message and The Voice versions. I've always felt reading the different versions helps me as I study His word. Great message for us. I'm so glad you found your way to Three Word Wednesday! Thanks for joining our writing family.
Blessings,
Beth

Amen to this Gloria! It can be easy to simply read and study but not have it really soak in. I think the key is do we obey what the Word says? Head knowledge without heart knowledge isn't true knowledge of God's Word. You are so right!

Blessings and love,
Debbie
