"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

'WE LOVE HIM. BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US" (KJV)

During my devotion time today, I was just sitting quietly thinking about how much God loved me before I even gave Him a thought. Oh, I believed there was a God and His Son is Jesus Christ, I mean you can’t be born in the Bible Belt, grow up and not be aware of God. I am talking about a PERSONAL  GOD, A MY OWN PERSONAL GOD RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM AND HIS SON JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. A deep down. life changing, mind changing whole way of thinking changing. relationship with GOD.

Have you ever just took the time to be quiet and think on all the ways that God loves us?   Ways that sometimes does not even seem important and we really never give them the thoughtfulness and thankfulness  they deserve.

Before the foundation of the world was laid, God chose the WORD which would become His only begotten Son, Jesus, (Immaneul, God With Us). born of a virgin as a human baby, grow up, live a sinless Earthly life  be betrayed and beaten and be sacrificed on the cross where He shed every drop of His Precious Blood  to pay the sin debt for each of us that would accept  His sacrifice for us and give our lives forever to Him, to serve Him and to proclaim Him as KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS.

This was our debt that the perfect Son of God did not owe, and also our debt that there was no way we could ever pay.  But God did not have to persuade His Son to do this for us.  Jesus  FREELY, LOVINGLY AND IN PERFECT OBEDIENCE, TO HIS FATHER DID THIS FOR EACH OF US.  There is no way we can ever pay for even ONE DROP OF BLOOD  that Jesus shed  for our sins.

Precious reader if you do not have that special life changing relationship with God the Father, God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit, just stop right now and accept with all you heart, your mind your intellect and all of your being the forgiveness of your past sins and become new in the Lord Jesus and from this moment on live each moment for Him.  He is coming soon and very soon for a people that are looking for Him, are you one of these, Oh, how I hope you are.

God’s Blessings and His Love to you,  My Love  Also, Gloria

New Years Promise from the WORD of GOD

“For I know the plans I have for you ,” declares the LORD, “ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you  hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Jeremiah 29:11 has been my verse in God’s WORD to start the New Year for many years.
The very first time I read this verse It captured my spirit and dropped into my heart just what and who God REALLY is to me.

Even though our earthly father’s love us with all their hearts, they cannot always keep every promise they make to us because they are earthly. But GOD ALMIGHTY CANNOT AND WILL NEVER FAIL US.

This verse helped me to see and believe that God would NEVER deliberately let me down, or forget what He had promised me.  He would never deliberately hurt or disappoint me.

His plans for us are not to harm us, but to give us a hope and a future.  I also love the way the KJV version reads;
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thought of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
God, from the very beginning of time knew when we would be born into this world and He already had a plan for us.

No, the verse does not promise me a life on easy street or that I would never have any problems or obstacles to overcome.  But He did promise in this verse that his plan was to spiritually and physically prosper me out of the problems and to give me a future and a hope beyond any trouble or trial I may face in this life.

The ultimate promise from God is that when this earthly life is over, if we have made our self secure in the blood of His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, we will live with HIM forever with out end.

Dear Reader there is no better promise to us in this world than this.

I do wish you a Happy New Year with all my heart, may this be the best year you have ever experienced in God, and who knows, He may come for us in 2014.

Blessings, Gloria

I do not know exactly when HE is Coming, but I DO KNOW that HE  IS COMING!!

JOY TO THE WORLD

“Shout out praises to the LORD, all the earth!  Worship the LORD with joy! Enter His presence with joyful singing! Acknowledge that the LORD is God.”   Psalm 100:1-3 ( The NET Bible)
There are so many, many things that can be written about CHRISTMAS.  I have been praying and studying for a post for December about Christmas.  I felt like my mind was just rolling with ideas about what to write.
This morning I started into Shug’s den to ask him what his favorite Christmas Carole is, and It Hit Me, like a vision in my mind, I heard “Joy to the World the Lord Is Come.”!! (I do not remember who wrote the song as many times as I have sung it.)
Until the birth of  the Messiah the whole world was wondering around in spiritual darkness and most of them did not even realize their situation.
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.  For to us a child is born to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.” Isaiah 9:2,6,7  (NIV Bible)
Precious reader this Baby boy, born of a virgin girl, grew up, lived a SINLESS LIFE, and in Father Gods time, willingly spilled every drop of His blood by the use of a tortuous whipping by the prison guards.  On the cross a spear was used to pierce His side, He was nailed in His Hands and in His Feet, to the cross where He willingly gave up His life and died on that cross. This was the most horrible shameful death; used for the most foulest of criminal’s.  Jesus who had not a single sin in His life ever spoke one word of anger or hate. Why?  Why?  Because He LOVED mankind enough to endure the shame of the cross to make a way for us to be reconciled to a Holy God, His Father.

The story does not end with His death of love for us.  In three days HE AROSE from death to life.  If anyone will accept His sacrifice He so willingly gave for all mankind on the cross and let His blood cover our black sins.  He will wash us white as snow.  When He comes in the clouds for His children please make plans to be one of them; to go to live with Him for all eternity.

I do hope you have a blessed and wonderful Christmas.

Please remember that Jesus IS the  ONLY REASON for this SEASON.

WE MUST HAVE THE CORRECT INSTRUCTION MANUAL

“Study to show thy self approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

I was prayed and asking the Holy Spirit for this post and I love to read from different versions of the Bible, the KJV is my “go to” version, but I love all the versions.

I was looking in one of my bookcases and I saw a book entitled “The Instruction Manual for Welding.”  It was a very old book so I guess it is one of my husband’s books, he used to do a lot of welding for himself on the farm.  It was funny to me, “I said “yes, I do need an instruction Manual, but I don’t think this book will do me any good for my post.”

The verse above from 2 Timothy 2:15, jumped right in my spirit, to show ourselves worthy and unashamed before God is to STUDY the WORD OF GOD. Not only study the Word of God, but to KNOW the word of God, to digest it’s words in our spirit man, where nothing or no one can ever remove them from us.

If we study and read every version of the WORD, but yet do not rightly divide the words, (rightly understand the meaning of the words), we have accomplished nothing.

To rightly divide the WORD, I must read, study, and study some more, that is where the different versions of the Bible are so helpful to me.  I also must look up the verses in a concordance, in Bible commentaries and other study helps I need to pray until I can see and understand what the Holy Spirit is trying to impart into my spirit about what these words I have read, really do mean.

I have read so many scriptures time after time and gotten a different golden nugget of wisdom from them time after time, that does not mean the Word is not the same it just means that there is an unending supply of strength for us in every verse.

A verse of scripture can give us comfort when we read it and later we can read it again and we will notice something from the same verse that we never realized before and the very same verse will uplift and comfort us for the need for that moment.

My precious readers, read and study the WORD, in these times we live it is the only thing that can carry us through until Jesus comes to take His Bride home.

Blessings in Jesus Name, Love Gloria

THANKSGIVING

“I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.” Psalm 69:30 (KJV)
In November we take the time to be thankful for all our blessings, (i.e.) family, children, grandchildren, friends, church, jobs, wonderful spouses, and the list goes on and on.

If we took a tablet and pencil and just started jotting down all the blessings we are so thankful for, then as we wrote, it would begin to come into our hearts and minds all the blessings that we take for granted.  Blessings we sometimes forget to be thankful for.

The greatest blessing we have to be thankful for is that before time began, God planned for His Son The Word, to come into this world; born of a virgin;  be named Jesus, grow up and willingly give His life and shed every drop of His Precious Holy Blood on the cross  at Calvary to redeem mankind of their sins.  If Jesus had not been willing there would have never been a way that we could ever live in Heaven with God forever and eternally.

How, do you ask can a person such as I, live with God in heaven eternally? The answer; the same way I am going to, by accepting Jesus into your heart, ask Him to forgive every sin you have ever committed and let His Precious Blood wash your sins away, though your sins were black as coal when Jesus’ blood washes them, they become as white as the whitest wool.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16 (NIV)
I pray that you will not let this Thanksgiving go by without accepting Jesus as your personal Savior and The Lord of your life.

The fact that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior is my greatest thing I have to be thankful for.  Please accept Him as your Personal Savior and say with me,”Jesus you are my greatest blessing.  I am thankful for you more than anything else in the world AMEN.”

My precious readers Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Blessings Gloria.

WHEN GOD ASKS US A QUESTION

At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said,”ask! What shall I give you?”  And Solomon said, “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You.  You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.  Now O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child, I do not know how to go out or come in.  And Your servant is in the midst of your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted.  Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil.  For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

The speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing, Then God said to him;  “Because you have asked this thing and have not asked long life for yourself nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold I have done according to your words, see, I have given you a wise and understand heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.  And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.  So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

Then Solomon awoke: and indeed it had been a dream. And he came to Jerusalem and stood before the Ark of the covenant of the LORD, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants. I Kings 3:5-14 NKJV

The Bible states in  2 Samuel  12-24 NIV, “ Bathsheba gave birth to a son and King David and Bathsheba named him Solomon (peaceable). The Lord loved him; and because the LORD loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.”  Jedidiah means –Loved by the LORD.  Since David means “beloved,” father and son were bound together by similar names.. God had told King David that this son would be born and that he would build the temple of God and He kept His promise.

I am sure that as a child growing up King David and the Prophet Nathan gave Solomon wise and Godly counsel.  This teaching formed Solomon’s beliefs in God, his attitudes about living Godly, and formed his personal  need for Godly knowledge.

Most king’s sons would grow up thinking (look at me, my father is king, I know it all, my every wish is everyone’s command.)  But not Solomon.  When God asked him what he wanted from God, his answer was, “More than anything he wanted an understanding heart, and wisdom to rule this great Nation.”

Before the death of King David he named his son, Prince Solomon as the one that would succeed him to the throne, even though Solomon was not David’s eldest son, Prince Adonijah was the oldest son of David, but God knew that he would not be a wise or fair king to the Nation of Israel. King David knew this also, so he chose Prince Solomon to succeed him to the throne.

King Solomon felt as a child before the LORD and before the Nation he was to rule. He was meek and mild enough to know that there was no way without CONTINUAL,  DAILY great and mighty Wisdom  from God that he could not do this formidable task every day of his life.

We may never have the responsibility to lead a nation of people, but in everyday life there are many opportunities that we need the Wisdom of God to make decisions;  (i.e.), our Walk with God, our marriages, our children,  work, every decision we make should be based on the perfect Wisdom of God for us. “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But he must ask in faith without any doubting.” James 1:5,6a,NASB

God always wants each of us to remember that we can do nothing  to advance His Kingdom, without Him, and His Wisdom; but with Him, we can do everything that He leads us to do.

Precious Readers with God as our SOURCE, we are unstoppable, Love Gloria

IF GOD ASKS SOMETHING OF US, HE JUST WANTS US TO OBEY

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

Through the years I have heard the statement many times, “God does not call the equipped, He equips the called”.

Has God asked you to do something special for His Kingdom, and your first reaction was “HUH”, who you talking to God, surely not me.

I must admit that this is usually my first reaction, “Please Jesus not me I can’t even talk without stuttering or showering everyone around me with spit.” I mean what are you thinking?

But when God really calls you for a special task, YOU or I are the one He wants to do the job.  Not alone, but in His steps and in His strength.

For God to use us we must have a very deep spiritual root system that comes by prayer, devouring the Word and by praising Him for What He is and Who He is.

I really believe that even though when God asks something of us and it usually makes our knees shake, in our spiritual man we want Him to use us, we want Him to trust us enough to know that even though we may be a little scared, I think that every Child of God prepares each day to be used by God in some special way.

When we accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives, deep down we want to do something special for the Kingdom of God.  There is a gnawing in our belly where theRiver of Living Water flows to just be a God Man or God Woman.

“I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” Philippians 4:13 (TLB)

When God calls us, we begin immediately to prepare, begin to diligently study the Word, pray more, fast and have our spiritual ears open to His voice for His direction in the way we should begin, and go step by step until God says, "Well done faithful child of Mine."

The Apostle Paul depended on the power of Christ at work in his life., “I can----through Christ was Paul’s motto, and it can be our motto also. We need only to release God’s power in our lives by faith.

Dear Readers, I pray God’s special blessings on you.  Love Gloria
